I endorse the candidacy of Travis Manning for Seat 10 in the Idaho Legislature.  Mr. Manning is a family man who believes in the democratic process.  He is committed to the belief that for democracy to succeed we must have informed citizens who are willing to be engaged in the process of government at all levels.

His involvement includes work in over a dozen civic and community organizations.  He recently founded the Common Sense Democracy Foundation and The Education Reform Task Force. His educational background includes work at a combination of two-year, four-year, and graduate schools in three states.  He has successfully taught middle school and high school in three states.  He understands the process of education broadly and thus neither believes we should throw out all of what we have been doing nor should we simply continue doing what has been done.

He is well-read and honors research.  He supports using technology in the ways that have been demonstrated to enhance learning and thus benefits students.  He honors the opinions of others and looks for opportunities to collaborate but resists the “group think” that is unfortunately evident in many organizations including some legislative bodies.  If you have read his Op Ed pieces in the Idaho Press Tribune, I am confident that, you agree Travis Manning’s ideas are well developed and clearly articulated.

Mr. Manning has worked with others to develop a plan for educational reform that is supported by research and will keep Idaho taxpayer dollars in state for the benefit of our students.  I believe he will bring a needed perspective to the Idaho House of Representatives on a wide variety of issues.

Please join me in supporting Mr. Travis Manning as the next District 10 Representative.
